A clean home that is still safe for pets
Plenty of Hills homes have a dog or a cat. Bleach on the floor, ammonia on the glass, and heavy fragrance are hard on paws, birds, and people who react to smells. You do not need a special kit from us. Tell us what you want avoided, and we follow that note.
What to keep away from pets
A label that says antibacterial is not a promise the product is fine for animals. If you would not want a dog to lick the wet floor, do not leave a film of that product behind. Strong mixes, and some scented oils, can be a problem for cats. When you book, name the products you do not want used.
- Bleach on floors: It lingers, and pets walk through it. A normal floor wash is enough for day-to-day dirt.
- Ammonia on glass: Birds and cats are sensitive to ammonia. Ask for an ammonia-free glass clean if that matters in your home.
- Do not mix products: Do not mix bleach with acid, including vinegar. Do not mix bleach with ammonia. Either mix can release dangerous gas in a closed bathroom.
Hair, floors, and smells that come back
Pet hair collects on skirtings, in window tracks, under sofas, and on vent covers. A smell that comes back after a clean was only covered. Tell us if carpets or furniture need extra time. We follow that note.
A spring clean for larger Hills homes is a sensible time to move furniture and reset rooms after a heavy-shedding winter. Share photos with us so the visit is sized properly.

Tell us about dogs, cats, fragrance preferences, and any rooms to skip. We book a pet-aware visit and SMS times.
Request a QuoteBathrooms and pets
Pets do not stop shower glass going cloudy. Keep animals out of the bathroom until it is dry, and do not pour bleach into the shower to be sure. If you also have haze or dark silicone, use the hard water and mould guide for the signs, then note the bathroom on your booking.
What to tell us before the visit
- The pet: Type of animal, indoor or outdoor, and whether someone will be home. Anxious dogs often do better in a bedroom or the yard. Say which door should stay closed.
- Rooms to skip: Name no-go rooms, such as a nursery or a cat's room. We include that in the booking.
- Time and quote: Heavy hair is extra time. It shows in the Hills cleaning cost bands, not as a surprise pet fee. Photos of fur on pale carpet help us size the visit.
Add fragrance notes or anything to avoid on the quote. If you also want a one-off deep clean, book it with the same notes.
